There can sometimes be a slump in views and subscribers during the summer. After working with hundreds of YouTube creators, I’ve noticed this happen consistently year after year across most niches (though not for everyone, because there are some channels that grow during the summer). 

What should you be doing now to make sure you don’t fall into a summer slump or take advantage of this slower time? In this episode, I’m sharing with you the three things you should be doing this summer to make sure that come fall (the BEST time for Youtube, by the way), you’ll be primed and ready to go for maximum growth.

1. Slowing down to speed up. There’s a lot involved to having a successful channel, and the bar is constantly being raised. This is a great time of year for you to scale back a little bit and take some time off, but use the time you would have spent creating content to hone and perfect a skill that you can improve on. Whether it’s learning new tools and softwares or improving your camera presence, try to find something to learn that can help you grow your channel!
2. Experiment. A lot of times, we get caught up with a formulaic outlook on YouTube… but try something now! If you get an idea that seems a little crazy, the summer is a perfect time to experiment with content that’s different from what you usually do. You never know what could come from it! If you feel inspired, go for it!
3. Create hyper-relevant content. There are always trends that become popular within your niche’s ecosystem on YouTube. Piggy-backing off a trend is one of the best ways to get found on YouTube. You never know what could happen when you leverage trending topics.
