Megan is a world traveler who has lived in over 40 countries while working remotely from her laptop for 7+ years. Over on YouTube, Megan is obsessed with sharing practical travel hacks and no-nonsense tips to empower others to turn their own travel dreams into a reality. In 2022, Megan grew her YouTube channel [Portable Professional] to 70,000 subscribers, racked up 8M hours of watch time, and earned over $100,000 in YouTube income – all while working a full-time job and traveling the world.
Megan has had such an interesting journey on YouTube. Video and storytelling was something she was passionate about, but she never felt like she had something to talk about. It wasn’t until she had some remote work and travel opportunities after graduating from university that she realized that there were a lot of “tech bros” doing the digital nomad thing, but not many solo women, and there definitely weren’t any doing what she was doing. She saw a hole in a niche. She realized that she did have something interesting to talk about. She did have an angle and experience. That prompted her to start her channel in 2019. Today, her channel provides straight-to-the-point travel tips and hacks.
“That first $100 paycheck from YouTube was more important than any paycheck I have ever received in my life.”
