Are you using YouTube as a way of driving traffic to your business? You’re about to get all your expectations shattered! It’s much easier and so much more fun to do than you think! Relationship & Lifestyle coach and YouTuber Helena Hart gives us one of the most value-packed episodes to date! Get ready to blast your business off into the stratosphere with her lessons and systems!
Helena has been a relationship and dating coach for the past 5 years, but she didn’t start her youtube career until a year ago. She was a regular host on the Commitment Connection channel and thought “I enjoy this process so much, why not start my own channel?” Now, her channel is the biggest way she gets new clients and ongoing business. She uploads every single day about dating, relationships, attracting money and finding your life’s purpose.
“I’m hesitant to tell people to just upload a bunch of content because there’s no point in uploading content that’s crap.”
She believes that you should also seek to create content that’s deep and rich in quality – not necessarily video quality – and that it’s more important to act fast than to delay for perfection. In this episode, she shares with us everything she’s done to grow her business and create an endless stream of potential customers who love what she does and gives her feedback and what they want to see next. You’re going to learn all about how she’s able to keep up with the daily posting schedule, how she ensures her quality is always super high, how she was able to grow as fast as she did and the mindset that drives her to be productive over everything else!
“Clarity comes from action. Doing something will help you further understand what you need to be doing next.”
8 Key Interview Takeaways
- Video is the best way to build a relationship. Hands down, when people see you over and over again on video, it builds a very deep bond between you and them. Providing good value, maintaining a positive channel and responding to their needs are bonuses that will make that bond stronger and make your calls-to-action irresistible.
- Videos on YouTube build your lifetime value. Think of your content as an asset. And especially with it being on YouTube, the second biggest search engine in the world, next to Google, you’re looking at an asset which can potentially increase in value over time. People 5 years from now can see your video and become a customer, or respect, like and trust you more. Keep your content on the positive, helpful side and you’ll be doing the right things towards increasing the lifetime value you get from it.
- Batch record to lighten your load. Helena says to keep up with her daily schedule she does a batch of recordings one day a week. That’s easy and fun for her, and it works, so why not? Have you tried that approach to making content? If you’ve had trouble in the past hitting a consistent release date, maybe give this a try.
- Listen to audience feedback and questions. How do Helena’s videos do so well? Because she gives the people exactly what they want. She reads all the comments and makes sure to create videos to answer the questions they’ve asked. You can learn a lot and chart the growth of your channel by simply giving your audience more of what they want. It doesn’t stop you from bringing your own creative ideas to the table as well, but as you chart your path, listen to feedback.
- Your titles should be the end result. When you’re helping your audience with your videos, how do you normally title them? Helena used an example of a title, “How to set boundaries in your life.” It’s a good descriptive title but why would someone need to set boundaries in their life? When you find the core of what people REALLY want, it makes for a more attractive title. The title she changed it to is, “The #1 way to increase your value in a man’s eyes and bring him closer.” Doesn’t that feel much more attractive?
- Speed of Implementation trumps everything. I heard someone say this once, “I’ve made 3 mistakes by the time you’ve finished thinking about your next step.” How much further would you be if you shortened the window between when you had an idea and when you execute on it? You think of something, then start to look at why it makes sense – or doesn’t make sense – then how’s the best way to implement it, then how to make it look good. Throw all of that out the door, and do the first thing that comes to mind as soon as the idea comes to you. I promise you, the world won’t care that you skipped a few steps.
- Do what feels easiest and most fun. This has been a recurring theme for Helena and a part of what contributed to her huge growth. She uses what she calls Inevitable Thinking, meaning, how can you set yourself up so the thing you want becomes inevitable. Instead of working against your own energy, feeling forced and stressful, and wasting more time only to have fewer results, do the things that feel easy and fun and you’ll get further. That’s the basis of her recording schedule, the content she puts out, how she works with clients, everything. If it feels forced, it’s not for her, and it’s not for you either.
- Know what to do before you hire it out. You need to have a thorough knowledge of all parts of your business before you hire it out: 1, so that you’re not taken advantage of and, 2, so that you know what’s involved and have an idea of the difficult and the effort that’s required.
