Beauty Bonus Round

What are your three holy grail items?
It’s hard to pick. I love buying new and better products!
1.) Nars Creamy Concealer. I love my Maybelline Fit Me but Nars concealer is beating it out.
2.) Rimmel Stay Matte Powder
3.) L’Oreal Voluminous Carbon Black Mascara

What are your three holy grail work items?
1.) Corel Video Studio for editing videos. I have recently gotten better at editing my videos. It’s a relatively affordable editing tool that not a lot of people know about. I have a PC. It’s something I never heard of before one of my friends suggested it.
2.) I love editing thumbnails. My favorite editing tool is FOTER.
3.) PicMonkey I use, which everyone uses for thumbnails.

Any favorite time management tools?
I love planners. It is a really big problem. I have 5 different planners for this year. I have all of these expensive planners but I use my Target one the most. I like long planners so I can write down the times. This year they came out with one that was longer. It’s more convenient for me. It has a notes section and it’s really fun. I tried using apps and google calendar. When I was doing an internship they tried to teach us to do that. In my phone, I don’t pay attention to it as much. I love to decorate, color coordinate and doodle. Always have your gel pens with you.

Who is your beauty vlogger inspiration?
I am going to have to say Kandee Johnson. I think Kandee is such a well rounded person. Mostly I have loved her for a while and I saw her at BeautyCon last year in New York. Just the way she was interacting with her subscribers. She was so willing to talk and hug everyone. She’s such a great person and mom. She is incredible. I love her so much.

What would you not do again if you were to start your channel over right now?
I definitely wouldn’t try filming videos when the sun was setting. For me, looking back at those videos, it’s so dark in the video. I understand webcams and a video. Everyone has a window in your house. Use that window, but use it when the sun is out. It’s the most amazing light. Use the light. It doesn’t compare to anything even artificial lights.

What are you glad you did do when you first started?
When I started my channel I wasn’t sure what I was doing. As I developed, I realized I was making a difference. I started looking a little differently at the situation and I completely changed. I got all of these messages from people and started understanding other people’s perspectives. I feel like I always lived in a bubble. I am really glad I didn’t look at YouTube as just a way to make videos, I am looking at it like a friendship situation. People I talk to back in the day when I started YouTube, I still talk to them. They are still my friends, I am really glad that’s how I looked at YouTube. Right now I am over 100k subscribers and I still feel like every time I get a message from someone it feels like my friends. I have stayed relatively humble in that situation. I feel like a lot of YouTubers, a lot of my favorite ones, when they get really big, and you see them at events you get a vibe where they just don’t care. I don’t know what clicked in me at one point. I used to be a person that didn’t care. I don’t know, I opened my heart and YouTube is a way for me to talk to all of my friends that don’t live close to me. I think everyone has a story with YouTube. YouTube can either change you in a good way or a bad way. Fame can get to peoples heads. In YouTube, it is the way you look at it. The way you look at it makes a big impact on how people perceive you.

What is your unfair advantage?
I know a lot of YouTubers who struggle finding a place to film. My family was kind enough to give me an extra room to film. I have an entire room to film in. I do peoples makeup here; I have all of this equipment here. You struggle with it in your own bedroom, you are trying to make your own room cute for filming. Having an office, I can decorate it. Every season it’s different and a way for me to express my creativity.
