Are you hesitating to get started on YouTube because you think only extremely beautiful people are successful on the platform? In my solo episode, I’m breaking apart that myth and limiting belief for you today and giving you the clarity and tactics to make a complete shift and start making videos with pride!

There are 1.9 billion YouTube users, some are uploading 400 hours of videos every hour of the day and some are watching 1 billion hours of videos every single day. There’s a 100% chance that a great number of those creators don’t fit universal standards of beauty. We’ll get to universal beauty in a second, but you have to ask yourself, why aren’t you one of those people putting out video? Is it really beauty or it that just an excusing covering up something else?

“Lean into your strengths, they’re the cornerstone of your channel.”

We dive into all of this today and I hope you get to the root of the issue, if it is an excuse and work through it. Everyone is beautiful in their own way, it doesn’t matter what anyone says, or said in the past. Beauty is subjective, what someone finds not beautiful, others will worship the ground you walk on. In all those variables, you need to control how you feel about yourself. because if you don’t think you’re beautiful and worthy of making your voice and face heard, it’s better to hang up your ambition and don’t even start making videos for YouTube. Tough love but true. I know you’re not giving up so let’s dive into how to shift the negatives in this episode!

“So many people are preoccupied with what they don’t have. They’re chasing something that’s incredibly difficult to achieve.”

4 Key Interview Takeaways

  1. People crave what’s real. More than anything, viewers nowadays want real, authentic experiences and perspectives. They’re moving away from the always super polished faces and videos and going past all that for the content and truth underneath. If you have your truth to share, then share it proudly and be as open as you can, and don’t focus on anything else than being the most authentic person for your audience.
  2. Check your limiting beliefs. Listen, you may be stacking limiting beliefs unnecessarily when you go down this path of whether you’re beautiful enough to be successful on YouTube. The first thing you’re saying is that you’re not beautiful enough – that’s a lie. Then you’ve stacked on top of that that you need to be beautiful to be successful on YouTube – another lie. Finally, you’re burying those 2 horrible lies under “You can’t be successful because you’re not beautiful”. All lies and can you see how damaging this is to your own identity? Would you tell someone you love all these lies? Of course not, so refuse to believe them yourself.
  3. Hone YOUR unfair advantage. Everybody has strengths. Everyone has an unfair advantage. If you spend the time to get better at those and get better at showing them in your videos, you’re gonna explode. Not to mention, you’ll have a ton more fun doing what you love and what you’re good at.
  4. Ask around about your strengths. If you’re not sure what you’re strengths are, make a list of 10 things you think you’re good at and ask everyone close to you what they think. I’m sure they’ll tell you stories and times you’ve helped them out or made an impact on them with your strengths. We often aren’t aware of our own strengths so do this exercise to get some clarity from those around you.
