YouTuber Abandons 1.1 Million Subscriber Channel. Sierra Schultzzie leaving YouTube?
Popular YouTuber Sierra Schultzzie recently announced her departure from her main fashion and body positivity channel, which boasts over a million subscribers. The decision marks a strategic pivot rather than a complete exit from content creation, as Sierra plans to focus on her family vlogging channel, Sierra and Stephen IRL. This transition comes as her main channel’s viewership has declined from 300-500k views per video four years ago to current averages of 60-100k views, though the shift appears to be more about lifestyle choices than metrics alone.
The move showcases a masterclass in YouTube strategy and work-life balance. Sierra had presciently launched her vlog channel eight years ago, quietly building a secondary platform while her main channel flourished. Now, as a mother of two children under three, she’s leveraging this established alternative to create more sustainable content. The vlog format allows for simpler production requirements while still maintaining significant monetization potential through various revenue streams including AdSense, affiliate links, and brand partnerships.
Sierra’s transition illuminates a broader trend among content creators, particularly those balancing family life with content creation. By maintaining a twice-weekly upload schedule on her vlog channel while stepping away from the more production-heavy main channel content, she’s created what many would consider an ideal scenario – the ability to generate income while being present for her young children.
Important to note: she’s kept her options open by not deleting her main channel, allowing it to continue generating passive income while serving as a potential platform for future endeavors.
