Holy Grail Products:
The first one is the Buxom Lash Mascara. So many people have told me that they purchased it because of me and loved it.
Paul Mitchell Super Skinny Serum, I have been using it since middle school. I apply it to the ends of my hair it speeds up the blow dry process.
Makeup Forever HD Foundation: They make a light shade that marches my skin tone which most foundations don’t because I’m so pale.
What are your three holy grail work items?
#1 Would have to be my computer it has final cut X. I edit my videos on final cut. It’s the easiest and best to use.
My lens on my camera. Its all about the lens, I have the sigma 30mm1.4 its amazing
Lights. Mine are regular studio lights.
Those are the three main factors of producing a video.
Any favorite time management tools?
My planner? Oh my gosh my Lily Pulitzer planner is my life. I’m not an Erin Condon girl. The fact that everyone is getting into scrapbooking; oh my gosh it’s my favorite thing ever. I write everything down. I like writing lists and checking them off. I use sticky notes, color code and highlight them.
Who is your dream collaboration?
I really love Megan Rosette’s video. She’s my favorite YouTuber. If I got to do a video with her, that would be bucket list material.
What would you not do again?
I probably wouldn’t do the videos that I personally like doing vs doing the videos other people want to see? Listening to the viewers and doing videos they want to see. Also, maybe not spreading myself too thin. I was really trying to bang out the videos instead of putting more time into them. Quality over quantity and that is where I am headed with my channel. That is my biggest thing.
What are you glad that you did do?
My biggest ting I am really proud of is that I have posted consistently. I think I went one week out of my life that I didn’t post a video. I am really proud of that. I have been really persistent with it and always dedicate some time to it. One of the best things is being consistent, that’s the best advice I can give someone starting a channel.
Your favorite opportunity
I got a shopping spree for one of the big department stores in Canada, it was the Hudson’s bay. I was told on a Thursday to go shopping on a Saturday. Here’s some money, go have fun, it was mind blowing to me. Growing up it wasn’t a shop I could shop at because we couldn’t afford it. To be able to run free in a store like that and because it was so much money I was able to get stuff for my mom and my boyfriend. YouTube brought me so many opportunities but that one stuck out because it was such a fun one for me. The fact that it is such a respected department store in Canada, that was a major thing for me. It was $1000 that they gave me. That was insane. They emailed me, I have no idea how they found out about my channel. It was for a special promotion.
What is your unfair advantage?
My unfair advantage is maybe just the fact that I went to school for this. I would not definitely say that I’m really smart when it comes to camera and lighting, I would rather not do that if I didn’t have to. But, I think that I have learned so much to do with the industry and how to act on set, different procedures and different things like that and the fact that I do know how to three point light if need be. I think if someone were to take me on for a different shoot I can work behind the camera for different things and in front of the camera but its something other YouTubers don’t have, yes we all know how to light a camera, but it goes a lot deeper than that. I think that’s my unfair advantage. The fact that I know other people that know how to work a camera really well, that’s a really awesome tool to have. It’s really cool to have friends that are skilled in those areas. Having a lot of people in my network that are able to help me.
